Railways modernize Russia`s largest stations using nanotechnology At a recent meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council of JSC" Russian Railways "was decided to reconstruct the largest Russian stations to introduce the most modern technologies.

project was named "Smart Station". The project aims to increase the efficiency of the station and the surrounding infrastructure, where all technical and organizational processes occur with minimum human involvement.

One of the main elements of "smart station" is the introduction of nanotechnology. Planned use of solar modules, which will significantly reduce the costs of energy consumption. As well as sun films - they promote the preservation of station stained glass.

first eight stations will be modernized Moscow node. Then 73 regional station. Their modernization is planned for 2010-2012. Currently prepared modernization projects following stations: St. Petersburg-Finland, Grodekovo, Kazan, Sochi, Tuapse, Loo, Lasarevskoye, Vladivostok, hosta, Vyborg, Nizhny Novgorod-Moscow.
